Skinny Jeans & Leggings

Two trends I can't seem to bring myself back to.....

Don't get me wrong - I've rocked both these styles back in the day; my leggings had lace trim, and my skinny jeans were tucked into multiple colored tube socks.....not to mention I was 12.

Unfortunately, skinny jeans DO NOT look even remotely skinny on me. Skinny jeans on me need to be renamed to "Tree Trunk Big Butt" jeans. And leggings??? Nothing accentuates my cankles like a pair of leggings cropped mid calf joined with a pair of....FLATS. Good God. The icing on the outfit? A long shirt cinched at the waist with a chunky belt - accentuating my teeny waistline from the front....but also exhibiting my rotund rear in the back.

Gag.

It's taken me YEARS to figure out what looks right on my curvy 5'5 frame. Boot cut jeans - check. Heels - check, check. Anything that creates long, lean lines - I'm all for it.

However I feel like whenever I'm out and about, I'm witnessing everyone else sporting these new styles. I'm all about current trends and fashion, but I just can't bring myself to re-try these outfits that have proved in the past to be VERY unflattering.

Is anyone else forgoing these new fashion trends? Am I the only one stuck in a fashion nightmare for not even attempting to adapt with the changing times?

Oh and ps - this whole "scarf" trend - bologna!! I sported this look back in '04. Not because I thought it was trendy, but because I live in the Northeast and although I'm indoors, a loosely tied scarf keeps my chest warm.

Un-Anonymous

So I'm having some issues switching from anonymous to un-anonymous. I'm not quite sure how much to tell and how much to hold back. Do I start with an introduction for those of you that didn't read my old blog - or do I just start here.....

I decided to start here......

That's us - Brian and I - during a trip to Punta Cana last fall. We've been together almost three years. Like most couples, we've had our ups, and we've had our downs. Brian is an amazing, sweet, thoughtful man, and I'm so lucky that he is mine!!! I consider myself so lucky, I went ahead and bought a house with him

We move in on June 19th.

I've informed him - very delicately of course - that immediately following the purchase of a home, the purchase of a beautiful piece of jewelry should follow - for me. For my left hand. Left hand ring finger. Diamond. Like now.

Like I said ..... delicately.

His response, "Sounds like a deal."
