Options
Oh my holy VOMIT.
*SIGH*
I'm not even sure where to begin with this one.....
I'll start here - I'm angry with myself - angry that I'm actually taking the time out of my day to give this family and situation MORE attention. I'm angry that I'm still following and reading articles that profile the trainwreck that is Jon & Kate Plus 8.
I just can't help it.
I highly DOUBT that the parents of this girl are all, "Yeah, SUUUUUUUURE, great guy!!! Please date him. You'd be a great stepmother someday to his EIGHT CHILDREN. You have our blessing."
I don't think so.
The quote that sent me over the edge was this: "I told him life is about options."
Yes, my dear life is about options. Jon opted to make the ultimate commitment and marry Kate. He opted to undergo IVF not once, but twice. He opted to have all 8 of his children. He also opted to put himself, his wife, and his children on television for the entire world to view and judge. He also opted out ..... out of the situation that he opted to create in the first place.
Yes, life is about options. And he opted to be a scumbag.
Your thoughts?

Happy Stuff
In light of all the crap that is going in the world - Michael Jackson dying, Farrah Fawcett dying, Jon & Kate separating, the piss poor economy, etc., I decided to post some cheer......
This is Brian and I at his sister's rehearsal dinner. He calls this my Dorothy dress. I call that his boring blue shirt....

This is cocktail hour at the wedding - I'm wearing the same dress I wore to my college graduation, 2 years ago.

Ok fine....college graduation .... 7 years ago, but who is counting?? The dress still fits (snugly, and with a pair of spanks) and that's all that matters...
This picture is in the midst of heavy drinking.....

Have a good one :)

P-I-G.
I completely and utterly hate this guy.
Does ANYONE out there other than myself think that this guy is a complete and utter jackass??
His girlfriend is 22. And he is 32. With 8 kids. Not to mention she is the daughter of the physician that performed Kate's tummy tuck.
Ewww. Piggy Jon. You're a dad. You have kids. EIGHT OF THEM. Clean it up. Grow up.

Time?
Moving into a new home during the summer months is tough. In between weddings, and cookouts - we seem to find ourselves at either Home Depot, Target, Loews, or the grocery store.
And we still have so much to do. I glanced out the kitchen window the other day to find Brian wielding a chain saw to the overgrown shrubs that had engulfed the front deck.....
And speaking of the deck - some of the boards are rotting....how do I know this? I know this because my heels have gone through 3 of them.
Brian: "You need to walk differently. Like...lighter."
Me: "You need to fix the boards. Nothing is wrong with my walk."
Brian: "Then don't wear skinny heels across the deck."
Me: "That's like asking me not to breath."
It will all get fixed eventually.
Still to come - pics from the rehearsal dinner and wedding.
Night.

Settling In
Moving. Is. Not. Fun.
At. All.
The important thing is that it's done and over with. Unfortunately tackling the unpacking is as big of a pain in the a*s as moving was.
*SIGH*
In addition to the move and the unpacking, Brian's sister is getting married this weekend. With everything going on, I haven't been watching what I've been eating (or drinking) and the gym.....um, well, haven't been there much either....I tried on my dress for the wedding, and in my opinion I look like a sausage. I'm premenstrual, so in addition to looking like a sausage, I feel like a sausage. A big, fat, full, bloated sausage.
I've been pissing and moaning about how "FAT" I am to Brian for the last 48 hours....I think he's had enough...
"I AM NOT telling you AGAIN that you ARE NOT FAT!!! Just STOP!!!"
I'm such a girl.
Rehearsal dinner tonight, wedding tomorrow. Off to get mani's and pedi's.
Pictures to follow soon.
Have a good one!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
I move in approximately 48 hours.
I am completely freaked out.
Not freaked out in a bad way - but freaked out in a "holy crap things are really changing" way.
I've been in the same apartment for almost five years. Two of those years with a roommate, and almost three flying solo....well, solo with two beautiful kitties. In 48 hours I'm moving in with a boy, and I've never lived with a boy before - well at least a boy I've been romantically involved with.
My apartment at the moment is half packed. Whatever isn't packed has been strewn about in utter chaos. I guess that kind of describes how I feel right now. Half of me is all neat and put together - papers signed, movers scheduled, T's crossed, I's dotted. The other half - complete manic mess. My landlord called me today and informed me that he is showing some woman my apartment - some woman who recently separated from her fiance, and is really interested in my building. My landlord asked if I would be home so that I could answer any questions she may have about the apartment.
"Did you like living here?" She might ask. To which I would respond with.....
"I absolutely loved living here. The neighbors in the house to the right are amazingly nice, and always say hello when we bump into each other. Their Yorkie is named Ty, and he loves to lick your face. The other apartments in the building have a very high turnover. People come, they live for a year, and then they move on - using this building as a sort of transition station. The man on the second floor is a different case - he's been here for years, and uses this apartment when he travels. No one knows what he does for work, or where he really lives because he rarely says hello, rarely makes eye contact, and never smiles. Odd duck. You are in walking distance to anything you could ever need: 3 coffee shops, a gym, liquor store, sushi, pizza, and a dozen or so of boutiques and shops - great to browse through, but too expensive to buy anything. Holiday town parades come right down our street and passed the front door - great if you love parades, bad if you dislike bagpipes blaring into your bedroom window at 10 am. The park around the corner sometimes has community yard sales, and art shows, and even a carnival. During the summer a band plays oldies every Wednesday night in the park - and you can hear the music waft in through the living room window. It's a beautiful town in the winter - lights on every tree that line the street - everyone immersed in the Christmas spirit - the driveway doesn't get plowed in a timely manner, and they rarely shovel the walkways and steps. It's quiet and quaint and I absolutely loved living here."
My kitties and I have made a wonderful home here. I've learned a lot about myself living here. I've grown up, I've faced fears, I've grown strong. I've started new jobs, and ended old careers. Started relationships, broke off relationships, and started new relationships over again. I've loved hard, laughed hard, cried hard, fallen down my stairs hard (cuffed pants, and spike heels: bad combination). I've slept in, had sleep overs, made breakfast, made love, fought, and forgave in this apartment.
And now it's time to move on, and I'm sad. I am moving in to a beautiful house with a man I love and adore, but there is no denying that I'm leaving behind a part of my life, and beginning a new journey. It's scary when what you've known for so long will no longer be, even if what you're heading into is absolutely wonderful and what you've always wanted.
To quote Semisonic:
"Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end."
And to quote my boy Gavin Degraw (my boy because I HEART him):
"Oh, this is the start of something good. Don't you agree?"
Sweet Dreams.
Love,
anastasia
